Some good news for UK residential property owners. New figures just out show that British house prices increased 1.6% in August from July.

British Home Values on a Plateau

Residential Property Loan Agreements Higher or Lower over Last Month?
Some slightly contradictory signals emerge from the mortgage lending statistics this week casting doubt on the trend in house prices and the prospect of owners achieving quick sales on their properties. On the one hand the number of mortgages granted improved again to 45,000, but the actual money lent showed a small decline.

Broward and Miami-Dade residential inventories continued to decline during July, according to data from the Multiple Listing Service (MLS). Case-Shiller: House prices up for second month
The data from the S&P/Case-Shiller Home Price Indices for June 2009 were released at 9AM ET, showing that house prices in the US increased for the second consecutive month. Last month marked the first month since July 2006 that prices rose in the US. While prices should rise during the spring and summer, the most buoyant period for residential property, the rise in prices does mark a break with the three-year downward trend.
